This committee of the Organization of American States (OAS) will address the legitimacy of foreign intervention during democratic crises, focusing on the situation in Venezuela. The committee will examine the balance between state sovereignty, non-intervention, democracy, and human rights, while considering the role of international organizations and the different responses available to member states. Delegates will discuss Venezuela’s political history, international actions, and current situation, as well as different perspectives on whether and how the international community should respond to democratic crises.
